The one who can rule the world with words of truth and wisdom becomes the greatest of all in Witlandia.
With every lie you lose a sound of your voice until you become speechless. No lie can be hidden in Witlandia. They have a record in the royal chronicle of everything that happens or is said here.
King Selfread ascends the throne. He sets fire to the royal library with the chronicle, falsely accuses his brother Trueman of arson and awakens the Lie itself. Together they begin to reform the whole Kingdom. On the run from captivity, Trueman manages to save the only evidence about king's lies – the royal chronicle.
A new hero named Witly arises. He grows into a young wise man. He sets out in the world with his friend Tatt to win the royal Wordslam tournament. There he can reveal the truth about the King’s lies to everyone. King Selfread is left speechless because of his lies, and the Lie with her short legs takes to her heels.

Conquer the word – conquer the world
The development of Witlandia started at a round table of script-writers and filmmakers at an old manor in Prague. All participants were enchanted by a poetic prologue written in rhymes full of punns and a play with words.
First treatment introduced a word-slam tournament, a battle between Queen Lie and Truth the Fairy. The mission of a young heir to the throne named Wittley is to fight for Truth and let the Word of Truth rule the Kingdom once again.
First full-script has been written in Czech and consultated with Czech dramaturges. This resulted in further re-writing of new versions of the film script.
Treatment of the film has been translated into English and consulted with foreign script experts from US and Germany. during development programme MIDPOINT Intensive. Namely German dramaturge Franze Rodenkirchena from Berlin and experienced Hungarian / US script consultant Gyula Gazdag who has been respected mentor at Sundance Director's Lab since 1997. We continued consulting script with Czech script consultant Milada Těšitelová.

JOIN THE TEAM :)
The live-action fairytale film makes demands not only for a great story but also for engaging art and costume design, set design, and casting. In order to convince serious investors and other partners about this project, we are preparing a “proof of concept” in the form of a teaser. Therefore, we are now looking for ways to realise and fund this teaser.

DECEMBER
Development within the MIDPOINT Intensive programme
It was a great pleasure to be selected for the international development programme MIDPOINT intensive. Thanks to this, it was possible to check not only the work on the story, but also its understanding and the way of telling it in English. The mentors of these development workshops were the experienced dramaturges Franz Rodenkirchen (GER) and Gyula Gazdag (USA).
2020
JANUARY
The first version of the scenario
Very quickly, the first version of the treatment and the whole script were created. These outputs were an important basis for consultations with several dramaturges and subsequent scriptwriting work.
2019
OCTOBER
A round table over film themes
A creative meeting of screenwriters and filmmakers at a round table over film and TV themes from the drawer. The idea for the fairy tale Mudrlandie appealed with its original verse language and theme in the form of the opening prologue by the narrator.
